I. Course Prerequisite Change Prerequisite for EH 460/560, Advanced Grammar and Linguistic, is EH 102 or 104 and EH 302. Change prerequisite to EH 302 only. Students cannot take EH 302 until they have taken successfully EH 102; therefore the prerequisite is  redundant. None None
II. Minor Requirement Change Required courses for the Journalism minor include the following:  (required) Journalism 360, Mass Media Design; One of the following: Journalism 350, Desktop Publishing, or Journalism 370, Television Production

Change the requirement to read as follows:

(require) Journalism 350, Desktop Publishing; One of the following: Journalism 360, Mass Media Design, or Journalism 370, Television Production

There are two reasons for this change:

1. Desktop Publishing is logically an  introductory  course for Mass Media Design, in which course material would include more advanced elements of Desktop Publishing; therefore, it should be the required course, not Mass Media Design.

2. We are easily able to teach Desktop Publishing each semester, making it an attractive minor requirement, while Mass Media Design (and Television  Production) are much more difficult to staff each year.

None We have adequate staff already on board for Desktop Publishing.
